Joel, Ghana, Africa

My students got a chance of practising English with our friend from Ghana-Joel Kofi. We're going to discuss lots of topics together. Joel has already shared the information about the national flag, the place of the country on the map and some special traditions and customs of his native country.
5th and 6th Graders prepared questions for their new friend. 2nd Graders have drawn Ghanaian and Russian flags, so Joel will bring home some kids' creations.

September, 24 (Tuesday) was a special day and for me and for students. There were extraordinary
lessons. Joel Kofi was actively involved into the process of teaching. Discussion of joint lessons lasted all weekend via Skype, Hangout and emails. Joel suggested lots of games and tasks for language practice.  Only the most creative and unusual tasks were chosen and used at the lessons.
So, just imagine - the group of students was taught by two teachers at once - Olga Timofeeva and Joel Kofi Antwi! The children enthusiastically joined such a pedagogical buttle, where each teacher was trying to "beat" the other, offering students more and more creative tasks. Both teachers could unexpectedly ask each other to keep on working with the students, thus anticipating hesitation of the colleague, but the students immediately started to support their "new" teacher and the work continued successfully.
During the lessons students actively find a couple of letters of the alphabet , singing songs in English , talked
about their appearance, described their friends and even made recommendations for Joel . Seeing such an interest of teachers, their passion and desire to work quickly, students tried to do their best to find creative solutions of  lexical and grammatical problems.
Teachers' marathon lasted all the day long and during the lessons and in the club of international cooperation - OLE-club. Each meeting ended with cries of despair, when lessons finished. What a great day it was!
